School for the Blind

Blind children typing on braille machines.
The school for the blind was annexed onto Gulu Primary in 1969. Currently, 80 students at Gulu Primary are visually impaired, 52 boys and 28 girls. Most of the students, 55 out of the 80, are boarding students that live at the school.

Dormitory facilities at the school are inadequate and undersized. Gulu Primary is looking for funding to build a dorm that will accommodate up to 100 blind students. GP is always looking for braille paper, machines, or donations to aid the visually impaired.
